I have a new man in my life...and a dress to match.

This might come as a surprise to some of you.......

But you can all rest assured that I'm talking about the dog. He's quite lovely don't you agree? Anyhow, I thought it would be fitting to have this gorgeous little creature in the same shot as this insane 1960's wedding dress that I bought from the Salvo's store on the weekend. I couldn't go past the lace details on the bodice, the puffy sleeves, the organza, the ivory colour, it's mint condition- not to mention the fact that the veil was included. So being in no need for a wedding dress I decided that I could just alter it and make it into a little baby doll number, reminiscent of the Miu Miu Spring 08 range. Results are below and against the black I think it's quite stunning.

Dress: Vintage wedding dress from Salvo's store
Tights: Wicked
Heels: YSL

I've been reading your blog for a while now, but first time commenting. I couldn't help but marvel at the excellent job you did in finding the wedding dress, and such a lovely one too. And an even greater job in altering to such a gorgeous dress!

Bravo!

Will the real LM please stand up?!

Are you keeping secrets from me? Have you lost the use of your legs in some horrible accident that you haven't told me about? I want to see the dress in full length, damn it!

Anyway... everything is nice as usual and the doggie is a sweet touch.. I really love your efforts with the alterations - I wish I knew how to do things like this. And you are right the sleeves are adorable and totally worth whatever you paid for this dress.

Very impressed by the transformation from wedding dress to non-wedding dress! It's gorgeous! I don't have an eye for those things, would have walked right past it in the op shop... maybe not next time!

It's sort of Lolita-ish, but very pretty. I never would imagine turning a wedding dress into a day dress, but you did a wonderful job!

So wonderful. I can't stop staring at the sleeves. It's lovely to see an old wedding dress put to such great use. I lways get sad when I see them hanging the the charity shops because someone must have loved them so much once and now they are just sitting there discarded, waiting for someone to buy them for a bridezilla costume or something.

Beautiful work as always.

Gosh you're so talented!

I adore this frock and it suits you so much. Love how you've styled your hair, it compliments the dress perfectly and the black tights make it modern and contemporary...just beautiful.

If this ever goes missing from your wardrobe, you know I've come round and whisked it away! xxx

Ooh that's the cutest puppy, what's he's name?

And teaming a white fairytale dress with black opaques is a brilliant idea!

The dog is super cute, we were thinking about getting that breed but I'm so glad we have our crazy papillon Hachiko, I wouldn't change him for the world even when he is running around in circles because the doorbell went off. (Honestly youtube papillon dogs, all of them are just running around in circles, the are crazy!)

The Collector: See my latest post, I promise I have legs!

Penny: King Charles Cavelier Spaniel he is!
On top of being adorable!

The Clothes Horse: Thank you, I did think it had a Lolita air about it.

Sal: You got it!

Clara Cupcakes: My sentiments exactly.

Ryder: Oooo, I hadn't thought of that!

Kira: Thank you!

Porcelain Blonde: The maids are on constant standby!

Esme: The sleeves are amazing, it's the only reason I bought it!

Susie: Very glad and honoured you have read my pages!

Imelda: You should see my latest post, huge sleeves is an understatement!

Hayley: I would love to meet Hachiko one day!

Glad you are all inspired, I thought it might confuse some of you at first- what is she doing with a wedding dress?!- but I could see the potential the minute I set eyes on the sleeves.
Thanks to all the new readers too, I will endeavour to check out your blogs.
