Lady Melbourne's Vintage Emporium

It is finally here gentle readers, I have spent quite a bit of time getting the photos just right. I actually had the store done, but I didn't like the photography so I pulled all the auctions down and started again.
Here is a look at some of the pieces I've chosen to share with you, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

You remind me of Rosie the Riveter in the second photograph, but happier and less tough!

You have just spent the last 6 months telling us how you purchased these clothes for $3.50 from Savers.

Lovely photography. Your 'gentle readers' are not silly readers. It's best to refrain from condescensions.

gentle reader - anyone with half a brain knows that the whole point of opening up a etsy/ebay store is with the view to profit.

Furthermore anyone who has ever bothered to sell anything knows the time and effort that goes into photographing items and listing. How 'silly' would LM be if she flogged her gears for dirt cheap!?

Ooh I've only glanced at your etsy page for one second and there's already a few temptations luring me in! I'm off to do some more in depth browsing hehe. :D

Great pics and silly commentor! I don't get why people have a problem with other making small profits! I mean, you dug through those places, paid in gasoline/blood/sweat and now have styled them in a way to help people see the potential in each piece--why shouldn't you be entitled to a small markup! You're not ripping anyone off.

What does it matter whether the clothes are from Savers or not as long as the pieces are nice....?

Your store is gorgeous. It's beautifully displayed and you are the perfect model for the clothing.

I saw the item you sold, such a lovely dress in a stunning color. Bravo, me Lady! I hope to one day be able to squeeze into some of those lucious pieces. LOL

Hope your weekend was wonderful.

I have pondered over whether to respond to this or not, part of me thinks it's not worth bothering about, particularly as it's left anonymously (very convenient) but none the less, I don't moderate my comments so you all have your say.
I will clarify first what is in the store:
5 of the 15 outfits have never been seen on the blog, and 8 out of the 15 outfits were not purchased at Savers or second hand stores. They are eBay or vintage clothing shop purchases made here in Melbourne.
Any long term readers of these pages will know that and I would never presume that any of you are silly enough not to notice that.

I spend a great deal of my time shopping and researching clothes, and what I have in the store is a selection from many hours spent doing this. Whether or not you choose to shop there is up to you, but they are not simply Savers purchases slapped together with a 1000% mark up.
The store is aimed at people who like vintage clothes, but don't have the time, inclination or patience to spend the hours it takes to find special items.
I believe that is worth paying for gentle reader.
