For as long as I can remember, I have made my own clothes and accessories if I couldn’t find what I wanted in the shops. Even when I was a little girl I would appropriate things- dog collars, pieces of fabric, craft supplies to compliment my outfit. There is something so satisfying about wearing something that you made yourself. Do any of your get that feeling?I think it’s why I got into making accessories in the first place, just because I was doing it for myself anyhow and my friends liked what I made.
Anyhow, this is a new necklace that I made out of an old pair of earrings would you believe. Inspired by this picture of Coco Chanel I thought the large gold medallions would work better on a necklace than hanging off my ears.

I know what you mean about making things - I've long collected earrings to make necklaces out of (I don't even have my ears pierced!) I make ( sew and knit ) all my clothes myself since there´s nothing more flattering than fit to measure made garments.
And no fear bumping into the same outfit on somebody else.

I can not sew at all, however my mother is an awesome sewer so I'm constantly going to her with material, patterns, pictures etc of what I want. And it makes her proud knowing I wear what she makes.
