I got this idea for a cluster of figurines from a home wares magazine- apologies but I can't remember which one, it was one of those random magazines you read in a waiting room.
Anyhow, I already had the cats, and I bought the lady last year intending to give it as a Christmas present that never transpired. I bought the dove the other day and am now on the look out for more little animals and what not, I would like to have the entire table covered with them.
I love pop and kitsch art, Jeff Koons is one of my favourite artists- here is his take on porcelain figurines.
Until I can afford a Koons original(ahem), I will have to settle with my little clusters about the house.
And yes, I ate all the chocolate biscuits.

Love the cats :P
Goodness gracious lady, how do you keep your figure? You must be blessed being naturally svelte. I love that dress in the post below too, some of the pricing at Savers is incomprehensible! Great find!
I also have those 2 porcelain cats. They are currently sitting in my dining room.
PS I would've eaten those chocolate biscuits as well
Declared. This is the most viscerally pleasant blog I've seen.
And on porcelain - Porcelain seems so cared for and permanent, the very definition of classy.
Gorgeous.
The kitties are adorable ... but my eye is inevitably drawn to those delicious-looking cookies!
I'm amused by the cats' expressions.
you look perfect! I love the pearls<333

Yummm....
I've just come home from three months overseas, and I'm in complete "nesting" mode - your porcelain cats have inspired me! I doubt I'd be able to take over the house (my housemate would have something to say about that, for starters!) but little gatherings of things on the windowsill, for instance, wouldn't be too obtrusive.
Lady Melbourne I LOVE your style. You have inspired me so much. I'm a stay at home mother and I will be returning to the workforce this year and you have given me so many ideas on how to update my look. Thanks so much for your gorgeous photography and even more gorgeous outfits. Also I notice in a previous post ou alluded to the fact that you design accessories. I was wndering where I might be able to purchase them from. Keep up the good work!
haha, well done! That table will look so fantastic when it is done. Hope you are enjoying a break from the heat!

I like your Siamese cats, I have something very similar. I collect porcelain too! Cats only :)
Oh!
PS... on a slightly self-promotional note, would you like to enter my competition? By posting a comment on my blog, you could win a print of one of my photographs!

Lady Melbourne, your tea cup & saucer are just beautiful!
I was lucky enough on my last trip home to Melbourne to be given all of my Nana's antique tea sets. They are so gorgeous , nothing like what is available now.
Where did you come across yours? I'm keen to add to my newly acquired collection!
I am in love with that dress!
I love your dress. Those chocolate biscuits look so good. Stay chic!
these are so sweet! beautiful! xx
I love figurines such as those, I actually found a similar cat just a month ago. Great table as well :))
We have the exact same couch! Now if only I had a vintage wardrobe as awesome as yours... sigh!
