What a difference a week makes!
This time last week it was fashion week madness, tonight I get to have a nice cup of tea before some study and an early night.
I'm reading 'Twilight Sleep' by Edith Wharton at the moment, anyone read it? It's about the jazz age in New York(amongst other things!), if you are a fan of the classics it's a lovely novel. Edith Wharton is one of my favourite authors, not necessarily for 'The Age of Innocence,' but 'Ethan Frome' is one of my all time favourite novels. So tragic and romantic....sigh....
Anyhow, I'm almost finished this book so if you have a suggestion for my next read by all means, send it through!

You look lovely and snug! Hope you enjoy a more relaxed week! x
You might like 'A Room With A View' by E M Forster if you haven't read it already!
I'm a Jane Austen fanatic myself...
xx
This is so lovely, it makes me very much want some down time. Enjoy it!
I've been enjoying Graham Greene: currently "The End of the Affair" but I can also recommend "Travels with my aunt" for light entertainment and "The Power and the Glory" for more serious reading. Not quite as period style as Wharton but lovely stuff none the less.
storyville by lois battle is an interesting read
you look so comfy cozy!
happy sleep, dream of lovely happy things!
If Edith Wharton is one your favourites than you might already have read "The glimpses of the moon" but I loved it so much and must insist that you read it again ;-)
You look so cozy lady. Will we get to hear more about fashion week, or did I miss a recap?
yes vivien told me that they got in contact with you when she saw me reading your blog!! hope you like the dress! working there is so hard - i want everything!!!
you look so cosy, i want a big warm jumper! x
Anything by Kate Chopin. Enjoy.
Try "Rebecca" or "My Cousin Rachel", they're both classics.
I'm jealous of your tea, I'm out.
I've never read that book, thank you for sharing. Now I'm reading a book called "The Plauge" which is a bore at first but it's quite interesting later on. I forgot the author's name though.
Oh I wish I could take the day off and just read and have tea... I agree with Kat, 'a room with a view' is really good.

nice pics :)
Lovely tea set :)
There is a book called 'Kindred' (multi award winning novel from the 70's) by Octavia Butler that is very powerful. The blurb on the back is misleading and so are the first chapter or two. it's about slavery and the love hate relationship between slaves and their oppressors in the American south.
So tragic and so powerful but there are also positives.
Anyway I cann't reccomend this book enough I read it each year since I first found it
Hi! I suggest you read "The story of Edgard Sawtelle" by David Wroblewski. This book is marvelous!! It's a novel about a boy without a voice and his relashionship with his dogs, a language that transcends words.
See you!
Omg the jazz era! It sounds like my kind of book, thank you for the recommendation. Will let you know after I read it what I think :)
Ohh, I haven't read Twilight Sleep but I adored The Age Of Innocence -how can one resist tragic and romantic?! <3
Hope you're feeling rested and good luck with the study ;)xxx
