When Whooga wrote to me and asked if I would like to critique a pair of their ugg boots, my initial reaction was to laugh out loud.
I wondered firstly if they read the blog, and secondly if they thought I was seriously the right candidate for the job.
Michael who I spoke to however was charming and said, ‘Hey, be completely honest, but for someone who lives in heels, we think you’ll like them.’
I liked the fact that they weren’t precious about the brand and said that I could write what ever I liked about the product they were going to send.I think it goes without saying that I don’t wear ugg boots and I don’t wear tracksuits. That’s not to say I don’t wear jumpers, leggings, socks, slippers, or own an inordinate amount of colour coordinated gym gear.
But ugg boots- no.
All these years however that I have ridiculed how ugly they are, I now realise why some women would forgo wearing normal shoes for the warmth and comfort they provide.
I still struggle with how unattractive they are, but when I get home of an evening I find myself actually looking forward to putting them on. It's like wearing a warm bath on your feet, heaven.

Please, please never wear the Uggs outside!!! Yuck! In the UK people wear them all the time.. Heavens! I don't somehow think that I'm going to go in for the competition.. Hmm...

Hah! I never thought you'd cave, LM. But I'm sure they're comfy as all get-out, and so long as they're relegated to house-wear ...
This post made me laugh so hard!!! I'm exactly the same! I never understood the whole ugg boot thing till I moved to Iowa and had to live through -30 deg winters... now they are my go to slipper. And as ashamed as I am to admit it, I have outdoor uggs that I wear on the darkest coldest winter days when my feet are 2seconds from frostbite... so embarassed! But yeah, back in Aus...there's no excuse for wearing them outside!
i live in a climate that luckily would never have me have to wear them but i have always assumed that they were way comfy cozy -why else would you wear them?!
;P
I got such a shock when I saw these on your blog!
'They will never see the light of day outside my front door'- wise words Lady M -lol
These are not you at all. I think their efforts to convert you are going to be fruitless!
My laptop actually froze when I was scrolling and it froze on the picture of the uggs and I said "oh no she di-ent"
As a privilege to year 12s at our school they don't have to wear uniform, there was one girl who took advantage of this privilege and wore fluro trackpants and pink ugg boots almost everyday.
I don't like the smell of new ugg boots, kinda like rubber and something else strange. But I wear them... only ever at home, not on school camps or at sleepovers. Just like I only ever wear my Juice Couture and A&F trackpants at the gym.
So LM, do you have a pair of valour trackpants with the words "juicy" across the bum?

..... and they want us to paste a picture of those ugly things on our website?
I have Ugg slipper things for the house and I love them! Very comfortable.
HA! I love this post. Especially your reaction upon hearing that they wanted you to try out the boots. so funny...
I have to say that I am one of those that have fallen for the trend...they really are oh-so- comfy.
come on ....they're fabulous ...admit it :) I've gone through so many pairs ...lol.love.
I used to sell sheepskin boots - never bought a pair but always tried them on, insanely comfortable, but they're not called ugg boots for nothing!
That's why I never try to wear them, too afraid of finding them soooooo comfortable!
I REALLY don't understand people who don't wear tracky dacks or ugg boots around the house! SERIOUSLY what do you wear when you're bumming around the house? Pretty clothes are far too uncomfortable and SUCH an unnecessary expense for housewear.
I LOVE my disgusting faded trackies and my ugg boots. I think I'd kill myself if I had to wear restrictive clothes all the time.
I'm afraid I love Uggs. Now, in Oz, you won't catch me wearing them outside unless I'm going for a late evening walk with my husband and it's cold, or if I'm away camping.
But in Scotland, I used to wear them whenever we went trekking to castles and mountains on the weekends in winter. It was bloody cold and they were comfortable and practical for walking up crumbling staircases! ;)
i loooove your blog! i wear uggs myself (shame on me) but mine are pink with roses and stuff so i think it's not that bad lol..
i'm a new follower!

They asked me to rewiev a pair too and I had the same first thoughts as you did :) But I guess when they realized I live in Finland they never got back to me in any way...
I've never put a pair on my feet before but now I'm almost tamepted to try, for the sake of their comfyness, to wear at our cottage in the archipelago on cold autumn days.
I have a black knee high pair that are soooo warm, I actually wore them with dresses(to avoid being too hot...they really are warming!) as a student, they have sheep skin furry trim around the top so they are actually quite "snow bunny" as opposed to the tan ugg(ly) boots!
