Valentino, Valentino!

On Tuesday night I was a guest of Joy 94.9 fm's preview screening for Valentino: The Last Emperor.
Mark and I introduced the film and gave a short talk on the behind the scenes aspect of what goes into the production of Haute Couture. It was a little bit daunting standing up in front of a crowd, but as he reminded me, I blog and talk to plenty of people every day, I just use a different medium. Interesting point that may just fill another post!

So why am I telling about this fabulous film?!

Well, in conjunction with Hopscotch films I am very proud to present your chance to win one of 10 double passes to see the film, Australia wide.

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and include the words, 'The Last Emperor.'
Comp closes Thursday September 24th, 5pm AEST.

Valentino's ability to establish red as a colour synonymous with his empire makes him 'The Last Emperor' in fashion.

I wonder if the movie will be as visually stunning as "The (other) Last Emperor", although this dynasty will endure.

I've been waiting to watch The Last Emperor. I reckon it will be good!

Just trying my luck I'm probably going to see it anyway. Valentino just isn't the same without the man himself
'The Last Emperor.'

I've always loved Valentino, he truly understood women and their love of glamour. I can see myself watching this movie with eyes jammed wide open, mouth agape in awe and a choc top slowly melting down the front of my blouse.

Valntino is of a dying breed. He is one of a few couturiers who pride themselves in the creation of gowns which make women look like they are the glamourous star of a classic Hollywood film. This is why he has earned himself the title of The Last Emperor.

I'm very excited about seeing the film about "The Last Emperor". Most important question though, what does one wear to such an occasion?

the last emperor is the maddest marketer of dreams

I'm with Meagan, and planning what I'll wear to "The Last Emperor". More importantly, what did you wear to the occasion?

Oh I saw the ad for this before The September Issue!
It looks hilarious! Obviously not the point of the documentary - I think it'd be completely fascinating! But I think including his partner and alot of the creative process into the film will create some really honest, funny moments. Can't wait.
So yes - i'd love to see Valentino 'The Last Emporor'
Xx

Hello Lady,
The Last Emperor is such a perfect title for Valentino. As a youngster, Valentino Garavani, the Italian-born, Paris-trained designer idolized the goddesses of the silver screen, and he has dressed them ever since. Who dreams on that scale, who creates breath-taking hand-stitched haute couture nowadays? His story is one of rare talent, and I for one can't wait to see it!

A great tribute to a great designer. I'd like to witness whether the film "The Last Emperor" lives up to his legacy.

*crosses fingers for good luck*

Fash docs have become the new black. If Valentino is 'the last emperor' then Anna Wintour is 'the last empress'.

I recently watched the fabulous Lagerfeld Confidential, a candid look at the man behind the eccentric behind the designer. Needless to say, now I am eagerly looking forward to The Last Emperor, to at least see how it compares.
