Chilling on Rundle St
Whilst I was in Adelaide last week I visited Bauhaus on Rundle St. It's a sort of a home wares, jewellery, art and general stuff-for-the-home kind of store with a bit of a twist. At the moment they had plenty of stuff from Mexico (very Frida Kahlo), Indian pashmina's, bright and huge canvas pop art prints, and of course plenty of kitsch.
I gasped out loud when I saw these figurines because a/ I love dogs b/I love black and white c/ I love kitsch and d/ I love figurines. I could see the look of defeat of H.L's face the minute I had spotted them, a sort of 'Oh sh*t, she's seen more stuff we don't need but she wants to clutter up the house.'
He did end up buying them for me so underneath it all I think he likes them as much as I do ;)
Bauhaus sadly don't have a website, the lovely gals working there told me they have such a high turnover of stock that it can't be facilitated. So just like in the dark ages pre-internet(gasp) you'll just have to do things the old fashioned way and call or make a visit in person. Worth it.

They look adorable Lady M! Were they expensive?
Is the clock a local find?

Cute outfit! :)
Very cute doggies! The men in our lives do deserve so much praise - they are always soooo patient with our whims aren't they? I was re-viewing your movies:) When are you going to show us some more special vintage boutiques around Melbourne?
Oh Bauhaus - that's one of my favourite Adelaide stores. I miss it... (have moved to the UK)
I bought some amazing silver candle sticks there a few years ago.
I love all these pictures, Adelaide is so lovely
Did they come in any other colours? That's awesome.. I remember seeing Bauhaus when I was still in Melbourne but somehow I don't recall going in at all!
I actually visited that store for the first time today. My friend showed me it. I fell in love. :)
I love what you're wearing here- I especially like the neutral palette.
Such adorable dogs! Did they come in dark brown? I really like the matte finish.
I love Bauhaus. Haven't been down there in a while, though. Might go tomorrow when I'm in the city, if I think of it.
The dogs are cute. They remind me of Jeff Koons' art work.

i LOVE the cuckoo clock. I've been searching for the perfect one, or I'll settle for a chip n dale one from china town... I also know exactely what you mean about the look of defeat. I also receive a large sigh at the same time but bless our other halves for being so loving.
Bauhaus is great - if you love kitsch, did you try Bimbo down the road a little?
