Happy Friday

Happy Friday readers, hope it's going well for you. I spent the day shopping as usual and picked up $480 worth of shoes for $99 so you can imagine I am quite pleased with myself right now.
Will make sure you get a look on the weekend.

This is a dress I'm wearing as a top and it got me thinking after I took the shots how I wear my clothes in all sorts of versatile ways- tops as dresses, dresses as tops, skirts as dresses, upside down skirts.
I think it deserves it's own post so I'm working on it now.
Do tell how you wear your clothes, I know there must be those of you out there that do the same!
Dress: Jeans West. I think. It might even be in previous post.
Skirt: Vintage Pierre Cardin
Flats: Innovare
Jewellery: Made it all except the vintage Chanel gold number.

I'm such a fan of the dress-as-blouse. It practically doubles your wardrobe.

I am not clever enough to wear things in ways they weren't initially intended. I see other bloggers do it and get so inspired, then I take to my own wardrobe and draw blanks!
I just love your jewellery. I adore chunky jewellery but for some reason when I wear it I feel enveloped and remove it quickly. I wish I would just leave it on!!

it would be great.

I wear dresses as tops all the time. It works especially well when they are minis and really expands one's wardrobe.

I love this outfit, it's so chic!

I wear heaps of dresses as tops as well although sometimes the excessive layering feels restrictive. The things we go through for the sake of fashion...

I would never have realised that 'top' was actually a dress had I not remembered it from a previous post! It makes a gorgeous top. Love the earrings also, so pretty.

Please cease calling your clothes vintage! Clothes created in the 70s, 80s and 90s may be new to you but are certainly not 'vintage'.

The vintage Fashion Guild has a label resource that may aid you in determining the appropriate vintage of your clothes.

But for now, I know 'vintage' is SO 'Sex in the City', I'd stick to christening your garments as 'retro'.

Love Love Love your blog. Keeps me so intouch in an otherwise bland fashion world for me. The most fashion allowed in my country (well at least the one I am living in right now) is a loose LBD, and there is not much 'little about it'. Due to the strict laws on women baring their bodies, everytime in public we have to cover up in an Abaya.

As for how I adapt my clothes, I quite often wear any kind of skirts as strapless tops...and if they are quite full, I will bring them in with a waist cinching belt....

On someone else's blog it says that clothes are like lego - there's so many ways they can be put together! i love to wear dresses as skirts, skirts as dresses, tops forwards and backwards, dresses over dresses, skirts over skirts. I have yet to draw up the courage to wear my fave floral strapless top which i never wear anymore as a skirt though!

Love the dress as top on you. It's a very chic and flattering outfit...that skirt length is so hard to wear and yet you look as slim and lovely as ever in it!
Nice work LM :)

And I'm deeply jealous of your chanelesque shoes. I went to buy those exact ones last year at Myer but I left it too late and missed out. Boo!

Oh gosh that's a beautiful photo of your profile! I can't wait to see your bargain buys! Love your blog.

Meanwhile, I noticed some very cute pin-up bombshells in the side bar of your blog- could you please kindly tell me which website you got them from? Thank you :)
