So the rain has disappeared which means I can lose the winter cape and tights, but it still ain't summer outside!
This skirt was a dress I made and was giving to my local charity shop until Dr.Jones(best friend, archaeologist, pin up for new readers) intervened and encouraged me to salvage the fabric and make it into a skirt. For an experiment with colour if nothing else. I don't mind it, the fabric is delightful and was super cheap so that's two things it has going for it.
The top is not a top at all, it's my dress from yesterdays post. I love wearing my clothes in multiple ways, makes your wardrobe seem more abundant.
Anywho:
Dress as top: Second hand
Skirt: Me!
Shoes: eBay
Necklaces: Primark
Jacket: Refashioned vintage 60's shell top I did myself
Bag: Camden Market

LOVE the skirt, so glad you salvaged it... so feminine and pretty. Perfect for summer.
I wish I could be imaginative when it came to using my clothes in different ways
Ahhhhhhhhh, excuse me haha. You look lovely, such a brilliantly dress girl. You have such long legs! Baby you have such a lovely blog.

Dr Jones to the rescue. I am glad she intervened because the skirt looks fab. You have the vibrant colours of the skirt but you still retain some black in the dress/top. Just what the Dr ordered!
The fabric is indeed divine, glad you salvaged it - the skirt looks fantastic.
Beautiful skirt! Love your hair pulled back like that, too.
xx
PS. Sent you an email... PLEASE ignore my stupidity regarding the last comment I made! I'm so embarrassed!!
I love it all - especially those lovely big ginormous pearls!

Dr. Jones is very wise - the skirt is simply smashing!

Lady Melbourne, you've shown us how to do it again. Great idea with salvaging the dress/skirt and how clever you are with the Dress as a top!

I'm with you on converting different pieces into different things! I love the skirt and Dr Jones did well spotting its potential.
There is nothing better than taking something seen as a failure and making it into a roaring success. Well done m'Lady!
I'm glad you saved the skirt! The pattern is lovely and is a great splash of colour without being too much. So very pretty :)

I love the skirt, I have just bought my first sewing machine and would love to know if you used a particular pattern to transform the dress to a skirt?
