Black cat...

So Australian Vogue this month tells us to try out the new Max Factor felt tip liquid eye liner. I love winged eyeliner as much as the next girl, but tend to stick to my Chanel pencil.
Anyhow, I went to three Priceline stores to find it but it was sold out, clearly I'm not alone in following Vogue's advice.
Being the impatient soul that I am, I couldn't leave empty handed so I bought the L'Oreal version instead, knowing that there are probably ten brands that might offer me the same but better.
Low and behold it is lovely, goes on well and so far has stayed on all day. Resisted 40 degree heat so that's a thumbs up from me!

I've got the MF liquid liner, but its not too new to the market. I got mine about a year ago! Only problem is its a very blue black not a nice clear black like yours. Your mani is lovely. Looking gorgeous as always.

looks lovely! i usually find liquid eyeliner hard to use, but the felt tip may be easier. i love your dress, is it vintage?

isn't this heat awful?? I think Sydney was probably better than melbourne today, we have been overcast all day but it is still humid and muggy, it's... horrid, is the word that comes to mind. But yesterday was atrociously hot, and the past week in general has been quite bad. I'm very jealous of the snow northern-hemispherers have to photograph in at the moment!

lovely photos as usual!!

I love the colour of your nails at the moment Lady M - such a nice, bright colour for summer. And not the run of the mill shades that most girls seem to be sporting :D

Alos loving the dress - Black and Gold are fantastic for you.

I can never get australian vogue in the u.k but was so delighted when I went to harrods in london this weekend and they had it! I love the article about 'sex and the city's' misleading lavish life style that carrie portrays.
Great blog,

Perfect! This might be just what I'm looking for. I used to live in the black winged eyeliner look, but my hand isn't as steady as it used to be. Sounds easier than the liquid.
You look lovely as always!

It's absolutely freezing here in NJ! so I want so warmth. I'm so sick of the freezing cold!! >_O.
And I think I'll try out some winged liner, hmmm- I definitely need new make up tips... terribly. SO terribly. I'm lost in makeup these days, I have no idea where to start or what to do.
I love the dress you're wearing and your hairstyle! Classy as always.
love, dayna

These pictures are gorgeous regardless of what brand of eyeliner you ended up with - it looks beautiful!

The eyeliner suits you well :)
I've used a felt tip liquied eyeliner for more than a decade, the one I use is Rimmel; it's really good and stays on well, considering its price! I'm so hooked on the winged line I really seldom manage to do any other makeup...

(Btw might have to do that long-planned frequently requested make up post soon then, or part of it at least...)

Ooh, I must try the felt tip eyeliner - I love a winged panda eye, but my liquid eyeliner skillz are woeful. I hope they give you a ton of free makeup for this, it's a great ad!

Can you do my eye makeup? I really love the way you made the wingtip look so retro 60's and Audrey-like. =]

love the dress, and the teacup!
i use MAC because it's the only thing i can find that stays on, although that is sometimes the problem because it's a bugger to get off!!

I am a liquid eyeliner addict. Also, that dress is stunning. I want something with gold threads like that!

So what is the Loreal one called exactly. I have been using pencil for pretty much the same look for months now. I was almost going to buy some MAC Fluidlines but if the Loreal is cheaper and better I'd love to give it a go!

Your hair looks so cute!
My favorite way to do wings is to dip a wet eyeliner brush in black shadow. I find it's easier to work with than normal liquid liner. I don't know if it will hold up in heat though. I don't really have that problem in Alaska. = )

I love winged eyeliner but can never get my 'wings' symmetrical. I have such an unsteady hand!
You look lovely xxx

To answer some of your lovely questions-
The dress certainly is vintage, it's on loan to me at the moment so I have to take special care with it.

Getting my eyeliner straight is a combination of very easy application because the felt tip is like drawing with a pen. The rest is simply practice!

Hello!
Bittersweet- Dress sure is vintage, but it's not mine, just on loan!

Kitty Meow- I can't remember and have thrown the packaging out, but I do remember that it was called 'Granit' or 'Black Granit.'

Everyone else who commented you are just lovely, I really appreciate your words and support.
