Happy Friday

This curious show reel landed in my mail-box this week, and I must confess I was expecting something to do with cocktails but not this.
Smirnoff have launched a rather savvy new PR campaign in which they claim to be re-inventing the 'Mule,' a drink that was born on Sunset Boulevard in the heyday of Tinseltown.
The campaign centers around Los Angeles in the 1940s with the site set as a film noir detective story. Fast cars, dames and shadowy thugs- I dressed the part.
I found these cute ad's from the 1960's with Woody Allen promoting the drink.

I also have lovely new chrysthanemums and carnations for the weekend, I love chrysthanemums especially. Colours are so lovely for autumn.

Happy Friday!

Yes , 1940s movie star glamour!

I love the red lip and nails. The sleeves and pleating on the top of the outfit are really striking too.

A delicious cocktail - and so easy. Interesting the campaign starts in winter, it's a better summer drink.

It warms the cockles of my heart when a pretty girls talks about flowers and she says she loves something like chrystanemums over the usual drollery of a rose. I love Jonquils over all other flowers - their perfume is heavenly!

I love your Noir inspired ensemble, very very very lovely.

LM - your hair is to die for! I wish I could do hair, but unfortuantely I am rubbish at it!

I actually laughed out loud when I saw the add proclaiming the Mule was the drink for "swingers" tee hee!

How did you get your hair to look so lovely? I would google it to try the style out myself but I have no idea what the style is even called!
