Tell me the time while I do my nails....

For quite a while now, I've been meaning to try a manicure a la Dita Von Teese with reverse tips, or over stated cuticles depending on how you look at it. I figured the easiest way was to paint fake ones and stick them on, so that's what I did!

I trundled down to my local Priceline this morning, bought a pack of 200 plain fake nails and painted them with my Revlon 'Valentine' polish. Added a top coat and stuck them on, that easy.

I'm not sure how long they'll last(I don't wear fake nails) but even for a week they look cute and achieved perfectly the look I was going for.

I often get asked when I include my little cuckoo clock in the background where I got it. I picked it up about two years ago at an el-cheapo variety shop for $2. True story!

I have the exact same clock, we got ours in New York at Urban Outfitters for $12. Ours no longer works though as it fell off the wall and broke, still looks cute though.

Could you tell us again where you got your divine nude shoes from? Every time I see you wearing them I think how much I NEED a pair!

Thanks!

I love the purple number that you're wearing in this post darling - It's really amazing. The whole ensemble is as a matter of fact :D

And clever idea painting the nails and then gluing them on :D

It's actually not that hard to freehand paint outside the moon. however, if you struggle, those little stickers used for french manicure guidelines can also be used.

I love painting the moon one colour (typically something metallic or glittery like silver/gold) and the nail itself a dark red or blue.

I wish I were allowed cute nails at work. Alas it's too much maintenance to do them for days off the re-paint for work.Maybe on my next month off I'll give it a go...

The Fingr*s glue with the red lid from Priceline (apprx $7) will have the lasting for ages. Just be careful you don't soak them in the bath and use gloves for washing up.

Your outfit is gorgeous..as always!

I am launching my own blog shortly and have added your loving writings to the blogroll. I'll let you know when it's all up and running.

They look great, I cant wear the fake nails as they are too wide for my nail beds...

The purple shrug is not something I would think to wear but it is quite striking!

Cute! I love the half moon look. I may try it some time but because I always have short nails (all the better for playing music with) I'm not sure how it would look.

Great look! I love painted nails but not all the retouching that goes along with it. Polish seems to stay on the fake nails so much better!
