Tea time for Ladies: The outfit

I've had some lighting issues lately which has meant that I've lost some of the detail I normally like to showcase, but I think I may have just found the remedy today which you will all see the product of in future posts.

You know how when you shop sometimes and you find something that just has your name all over it, like it was put there, right on that rack so that you would pull it out and make it your own?
I believe this dress and I were made for each other, it is the epitome of what I look for when I shop- classic, authentic vintage in mint condition, and generally in black white or grey. This is a 1950's day dress that was made in Montreal and has label 'Designed by Sty- Val.'
If anyone knows the label and it's origins please email me.

Dress: Vintage from Retro Star
Jewellery: Mouche in Little Collins St
Shoes: eBay
Bag: Florence

Wow, love this. The dress reminds me of a Marni print I saw recently and the ring is so Chanel. You look absolutely gorgeous as usual! And the backdrop for your pictures with Super Kawai Mama would be brilliant for a shoot, a bit 80's and a bit 20's, quite bling ...

Hi LM,
Your ring is monster sized! Love it! I agree with july stars- it's very chanel.
Btw, my pink ruffle skirt is actually a dress and it was my mum's in the 80's.

You always manage to look so well put-together! I am so jealous of that ring, I'm too lazy to accessorize (not that I claim to know how to do it!).

You know what? While you look positively stunning in another of your well-put together outfits, I believe if I saw you on the street, as much as I love you (and I hope we meet one day), I truly believe that I would fight you for those shoes!

You are a true style gem. Your style transcends fashion; it's obvious that style for you is much more than just pages on a magazine or the "next new trend." It's a part of your personality. Style is not what you do, it's who you are, and that's as it should be.

Magnificent!

That dress gives me a Prada Trembling Blossoms vibe.

Lovely dress! I really admire how your style has a sort of consistent timeless quality to it while never looking boring or typical.

July Stars- the print was definitely a big factor in why I bought the dress, 50's prints never seems to go out of style.

A Dreamer- I love monster size rings!

Mey- thank you, I'll check out your pages.

Cheryl Lynn- what can I say, you are always so generous and thoughtful, I appreciate your comments so much. I always had a feeling I might be 'stylish' but not 'fashionable,' thats why I started the blog. I'll never be a Fashion Toast, and what I wear may never be in fashion but at least someone out there can relate to the clothes that I wear.

Caroline- I should have been more specific in my tags, I bought the bag in Florence the city, not a shop! I picked it up 2 years ago now, hoping to go back there for another shopping spree later in the year.

Yes that bag is gorgeous! I just got back from London and all I saw over there was the Zagliani Puffy handbag - which is just like the bag u have! You can’t get this bag in Australia yet, it’s worth thousands, but this site is GIVING ONE AWAY www.grlmobile.com
