I couldn't come to this city and not go to Chanel, it would be like going to Rome and not seeing the Colosseum or visiting New York and not seeing the Empire State Building.
Because you see to me, Chanel at 31 Rue Cambon is a landmark of Paris, being the flagship Chanel store and the building housing Gabrielle Chanel's private apartments.
As she is lauded with revolutionising the way women dressed in the first half of the 20th century it is somewhere I think is worth a visit to get a sense of what shopping and fashion is like in Paris.
Plus, you all know I love Chanel!I only picked up a few accessories, every time I come to Paris I buy a little something from the shop so I have a souvenir to take away with me.
We then headed back to St Germain where we are staying and cosied into a little bar for a bowl of soup and a glass or three of wine. Perfect day in Paris.
I am off tomorrow to the Marche aux Puces de St Quen which my little pocket guide tells me is the largest flea market in Europe, housing 2500 stalls. That is like shopping Mecca as far as I'm concerned so if I go missing for a while it's safe to say I will probably be lost amongst Parisienne vintage clothes.....no need for a search party, I'll be fine......

Your coat is beautiful. What is that gold detailing on the sides?
You're at THE mothership! Divine pictures, you look so radiant and what beautiful souvenirs...I've been lusting after one of those camellias :)
How happy you must be in Paris, yay for you! xxx
Hello.
You're right. The best souvenir from Paris is something from Chanel and for me, from the very first Chanel boutique. Is amazing open one of those boxes, with camelias in Chanel No. 5.
Bye.

Looks like you are right where you need to be. Am impressed you are keeping up with the blogging so we can live through you!
You look positively STUNNING! And a pilgramige to 13 Rue Cambon is an absolute must when one is in Paris. I love your new treasures :D
You look very chic in Paris. I also had to stop by the Chanel store, although I did not get anything (next time) I loved the accessories you got. Such classics! Hope you had a great time!

I love your tradition with the chanel boutique. "Souvenir" is the french verb for "to remember", so your tradition is so apt! what a perfect way to remember your trips!
(I did my french HSC exam today... :P)
Best of wishes for your stay in Paris, it really is magical!
<3
Oh the earrings, I have the same ones and just adore them! How fabulous to see the home of Chanel, I'm sure you fit right in with the chic-ness of Paris :)

Lady M, I love that you wore a dress from Target to visit Chanel!
Very chic you look too: it speaks volumes for your confidence that you would walk through the door in a dress that was not from one of the great design houses of the world and still look amazing!
Paris, that was my play ground for a year three years ago. I always miss that place. You look wonderful.
You're so right about Chanel. Enjoy your stay!!!
Great everythig, like ever!
Someone gave me a prize, so I must give it to my 5 favourites blog so...

Hooray! Isn't it fun to have a little personal pilgrimage?
oh chanel! how i love thee!!! were they snobby at all in the store?
swallowed by the House of Chanel...what an honorable way to die!
I was just wondering if your job allows you to travel or if you simply enjoy traveling? Just curious....I so wish I could do something where I could see so many amazing fashion concious places :) ~Kendra~
Oooh, your Chanel purchases are divine, and you look absolutely chic and gorgeous! I kind of regret not visiting any of the designer stores when I was in Paris, but as I was getting around in my school slicker, ripped and faded jeans and grubby runners it was probably for the best...
Oh wow, have fun in Paris!!! I do wish that I was going shopping with you!!!
M.
Ah, the Chanel camellias!
I hope you have fun in the massive flea market!
Beautiful purchases and pictures! I'm so very jealous! I am kicking myself not getting anything from Chanel when I was in Paris last year!

Enjoy Paris, dear. So sad we can't meet. Compared to trillions of kilometers to Melbourne Paris seems just around the corner... Kisses.
So chic LM. Your trip seems like so much fun, I wanna go to Europe...stupid Aussie Dollar. When are you going to show us the Eiffel Tower? You gotta show us that!
Gorgeous as usual. Reminding me that I really need to go to Paris next time I get to Europe.
