I have heels on but I'm still a midget in comparison. Sigh.....
I was invited to attend the official launch and reveal of the final designs for The Spirit of The Black Dress this morning at Georges in Collins St.
Here is a little snippet about the event:
'Emerging fashion and textile designers are asked to submit their interpretation of a contemporary black dress, to be judged by a panel of industry experts. Ten successful applicants will be chosen to have their garments professionally photographed and displayed in Georges on Collins for the duration of the Festival.'
The dresses looked just divine and it was so inspirational to see a modern day take on a classic item that most of us have in our wardrobes.
Monday night it the official Melbourne Spring Fashion Week party, I suppose I'll wear.....black?!
p.s- the photos are all my own, no problem if you want to share but please give credit where credit is due!

It's always a great experience discovering new designs and their reinterpretation of the LBD. I have at least 4 different ones in my closet and already considering buy another one!
Every day is a LBD day.
Great post, Lady M. ! Thanks for inspiring us
-slaps self- why hadn'e I heard of this before! I would have most defintely entered the competition! But then again, I'm a little less than "Emerging" hehe.
May I just say now much I much we would have matched if we bumped into each other today? I wore a black skirt that I made that looks like yours there, a white t-shirt, black tights, black (but patent) booties, leather jacket also!

Wish I was in Melbourne to see the designs. Who doesn't love a darling little black dress!
Lovely!!
That one-shoulder dress is AMAZING.
I'm sure I'd look very short in comparison as well. How cool that you got an up close and personal look. Those dresses look darling, and I'd love to have one as a staple in my wardrobe.
Dresses look very high fashion and chic! Don't think I can pull it if in the very boring wardrobe of mine though. Love the heels. ;)
BTW, anyone know of events like these going on in Brisbane?
These pics just prove how otherwordly models are. You still look gorgeous though, as always.
Looks beautiful, love the photo of you with the two Models (Claire and Sophie)
