Happy Friday y'all, I've only just made it with about 30 minutes to spare but I've barely been near the computer in the last two days.
Last night was the Nuff Nang Christmas party and it was lovely to catch up with Alicia and Hayley amongst many other Melbourne bloggers. We're lucky to have a really cool scene here in Melbourne where anyone can come to these parties, not just fashion bloggers but anyone that blogs.
I'm going to be in Adelaide really soon, not for long, but long enough to discover your shopping gems. I've had a few comments about where to dig around so if there is anywhere else you think I need to visit let me know. When ever I go there I manage to come home with shopping delights so I'm looking forward to this visit.
Anyhow, back to today's post(!), you know I'm mad on accessories and this is His Lordships Christmas present to me sitting on my lap. We're in love, can you tell?
I bought the necklaces at Valley Girl I think, ridiculously cheap and now I feel guilty as hell for not ploughing my money into a local designer. After running my own label for 7 years I know how hard it is to compete with the likes of Diva so I always get the guilt's when I find something cheap and cheerful in store.
Do any of you boycott places like that? I'd love to know if you can resist!

Lady M, did he pick that out for you? I'm so very impressed! How can I train mine?
I often find handmade jewellery far more interesting than what is available in chainstores... having said that though, your necklace is LOVELY!
I am intrigued by attention seeking neck pieces these days... Yours is no exception, it certainly doesn't look "Valley girl" on you!
Wooow so the way light AND shadow flirt with your nude skin is utterly Sensual, just like the way your precious necklace sublimates your cleavage's mischievous Majesty !!!

You are so fierce Lady! And I do agree with Scott Schuman's words!
Thanks so much for sharing his point of view...
many kisses,
Kira

I was jewellery designer for 3 years and it was super hard to compete with Diva/Sportsgirl even found they would sometimes rip off some of my designs!!!But from a shoppers view its fun to mix designer and chain store styles! I think its okay in small doses! xxx
I've actually decided to challenge myself to only buy second hand or local designs for the whole of 2010. I always feel kind of bad buying brand new mass produced clothing and jewellery knowing that there are so many wonderful local designers out there. Not to mention, I often end up spending money on a number of cheap things from chain stores that fall apart and regret not putting my money into one good quality piece that I can wear creatively over and over.
oh my!! I totally agree with you. I have a jewellery line at www.euniqyou.com and I am trying to avoid chain stores like Diva, lil shops at Far East Plaza (hi from Sg!).
But yea, like some commented, a lil indulgence is fine, I guess. Cos thats wot i did just yesterday! Great necklace tho! ;)
Your mum had some seriously cute clothing, the jacket is gorgeous!
I LOVE that bag...looking at their website now! x
i always like to stick to quality vs quantity but sometimes i can't resist! they're just too cheap!
