So, here it is folks, the Happy Friday Dreaming of Dior by Charlotte Smith book give away! I've hinted about it on the blog and on twitter but it was pretty obvious it was the book don't you think?!
I was racking my brains about what to wear in the post and it dawned on my while I was hunting around the studio that I had my own mini Dreaming of Dior moment. Earlier in the year I inherited the two vintage dresses I'm wearing in the post, and managed to salvage a picture of my Aunt Joan wearing the pink number at a wedding in the 1970's.
In her younger years, Joan was a ball room dancer and had many of her clothes hand made especially for competitions and events. Although this wasn't one of them, the dresses are so special to me and I absolutely treasure them.

i adore the pink dress, I'd love to inherit some vintage clothes, but unfortunately people in my family do not keep anything! Oh well.
Illustrating the dresses is such a great concept - I'm sure the illustrator was very pleased to work on this book.
The pink dress, the hair and makeup, you remind me of Esmerelda from Bewitched (but not petty & spiteful!), it looks just great!
i am in love with that picture of the pink dior dress, so beautiful:) and love that black dress your wearing its amazing:]

I absolutely love the look of that dress. And your make up goes so divinely with it. Well done!
That pink dress is just so gorgeous! My mother wore something similar (in white) to her wedding, with a little matching capelet. She still has the dress but my sister and I are both a foot taller than our mother so neither of us will ever be able to wear it. Tragic!
Don't you look fabulous?! See you tomorrow

I love your black dress a lot. It looks like Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's.
Wow that pink is stunning and looks like it's in amazing condition! Beautiful make up too :)
What a gorgeous post Phoebe!
It's amazing that you've managed to hang onto vintage pieces from your family.
I love that you took inspiration from the book - was flicking through it in a bookshop the other day. So in love with the illustrations!
you look so stunning in the pink 70s dress! and i just adore the caplet. It's wonderful to have a vintage piece from a family member to be able to wear. I am lucky enough for my grandma to have kept her wedding gown so that i can use the lace in my own dress! the pieces always mean so much more when they are from the heart.
Fabulousness!! Your blog is an amazing representation of what blogging greatest looks like. Your posts always shine an inspiring light my way and your competitions put the cherry atop a fantastic blog!

I love the dresses, love the way you dressed them both up and how you manage to provide inspiration galore 'cos you really are the cutest self-styled fashion icon. As I was admiring these gorgeous pictures I couldn't help thinking that I'd just love to see the postman's face when he rings your doorbell smack in the middle of your photo session and you open that door all dolled up!Hurray for Vintage!

Although the black and white outfit is absolutely beautiful, those first two images blew my mind away when I first laid eyes on it! Such amazing make-up! (Reminds me of Samantha's mother in Bewitched!)

Aren't inherited dresses just the best? I have a few from my mum and grandma, and feel so special wearing garments that they have once loved, too.
You look stunning in the black outfit, very classic.
Yay! A competition :)
Dreaming of spring.
love love & MORE love!
Hmm now how come any outfits I inherit from family members never look that good?
I enjoyed looking at the selection of items from the Darnell collection at the Sydney Vintage Fair. Wonderful!
You reminded me of 'Audrey' from 'The Good Life' in your Aunt Joan's pink dress.
Love the blog
Michelle
Beautiful as always LM! I love that you wear your aunt's dress. I have some of my aunty's 1960's deb dresses stored away (hoping to lose an extra inch to fit into them - they are tiny!). Great book too - I absolutely love Dior - really shows off the female form. Maria x
Oh, this totally justifies the extra wardrobe I keep for my vintage dresses!
Yey, please count me in!
