Hello out there!
My fingers are tingling as I type this because I can hardly believe I've made it to my 400th post as a blogger. When I started out I had no idea I would end up here, typing this.
Some very quick thank you's to people that have been there from the beginning:
Matt Jordan from Imelda, Emma from Austyle , Mother Melbourne and of course His Lordship.
Along the way I have met so many wonderful people, and there are too many out there to thank for the support- you know who you are, much love to you and yours!
I do want to take some time to thank you, sitting there in front of your computer reading this. I am humbled everyday with my readers insights, comments, emails and feedback. It is what has shaped and grown the blog to what it is today, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking time out of your day to come here and visit.
As I simply cannot take you all out for a martini to celebrate, Madman is helping me by supplying 10 double passes for Lady Melbourne readers to 'The September Issue,' so you can by way of entertainment help me celebrate!
Hooray!
Film synopsis:
Every August a record-breaking number of people can’t wait to get their hands on the September issue of Vogue. The 2007 issue was and remains the biggest ever, weighing over four pounds, selling thirteen million copies, and impacting the $300-billion global fashion industry more than any other single publication.
An intimate, funny and surprising look at Anna Wintour and her team of larger-than-life editors as they create this must-have Bible of fashion, Cutler explores the untouchable glamour of Wintour’s Vogue to reveal the extraordinarily passionate people at its heart. He takes us behind the scenes at Fashion Week, to Europe, on shoots and reshoots, and into closed-door staff meetings, bearing witness to an arduous, entertaining, and sometimes emotionally demanding process.

All you have to do is leave a comment with this included, to be in the running for the tickets:
'Fashion is my religion, Vogue is my bible.'
Unfortunately it is for Aussie readers only and closes in one week's time, 12pm AEST Thursday 6th of August.
Love always,
LM

400th post!

I went to Camberwell market today and picked up some gorgeous things- tea cups, a wallet and a huge bag of books. I didn't manage to get them all photographed but will update the post when I am blessed with natural light in the morning. To market, to market

I think you can all tell by now that I love anything black and white, with accessories that pop. This little snakeskin number came to me with the dress-form that I inherited, and I had it on sale at the last Round She Goes market but nobody was that interested. All that glitters
I was meant to showcase my magazines, jacket and bag but my phone has snuck in as well. I stuck with LG but ended up getting an updated model. It is so good to be back in the land of telecommunication that's for sure!Reading Material

Dear Sussan, Dear Sussan.....

Alicia from the Melbourne blog Sea of Ghosts, and designer behind the jewellery label Drink me Alice made this specially for me and I am so grateful. Thank you, thank you!

Hello all! Thats not right, kittens? No, thats the gorgeous Vintage Verve's thing. I'll have to think about a collective address for you all. 'Readers' makes it sound like a book club.
Anyhow, Happy Friday to you all where ever you are, it's beer and pizza night here for His Lordship and I. Actually it's pinot grigio and pizza night for me but I don't want to kill his buzz- I am staying in on a Friday for once!
On a beauty note I've got a ceramic, barrel, curling iron that I never use because my hair just drops out. It has sat in my bathroom cupboard for three years now collecting dust but it cost me a packet so I couldn't bare to part with it.
As I am on holidays at the moment, I have time to fiddle with my hair so that is why it has a certain 'bounce' to it.
I don't own a GHD or straightening iron, I've no need for one so instead invested in a ceramic curler. Hasn't really worked either- should have spent the money on shoes and been eternally happy!

Silk blouse: Witchery
Belt: Local op-shop
Pants: From the mens section at Savers, I just altered them
Boots: Senso Diffusion
Happy (casual) Friday!

As promised, here are my latest purchases from Ebony M, on sale for 50% off. I used my fashion logic and bought two pairs because when you are given a discount like that it's not the saving that counts, it's the fact that you can buy two pairs. Somewhere, my accountant just choked on his pen tip.I've got ballet flats sorted for my new snake skin bag, so these heels were the perfect horizontal addition. Not too matchy-matchy but the right colour tone which I like.
The dress is from(take a deep breath) Suzanne Grae. It's ok to breath again.
I've told you all lately I've started to shop at Sussan again, but Suzanne Grae was one Nanna shop I would not even blink at walking past.
Perhaps that's why they put this little number front and center so that gals like me(read occasional fashion snobs) would sit up and take notice. I'm going to do a couple of posts with different ways to wear it, similar to the Patricia Fields for Myer dress.
Phew, bumper post!
